I've been with Bug Zero since August 1999. My interests outside work revolve around outdoor activities, especially Deer, Turkey, and Waterfowl Hunting. I've been married to Heather since 1997. We have one son- Zachary.
Heather and I also support local individuals that struggle with autism and other developmental disabilities, and further research efforts conducted by Autism Speaks.
About Shoot Out For Autism
Shoot Out For Autism is an annual fundraiser hosted by our family, better known as “Zach’s Pack”. This sporting clays tournament is held each spring at Ozark Shooters. Participants enjoy a fun filled day of shooting, raffles, music, and food.
We’ve now raised $139,234 since 2005.
Why We Shoot
In 2003, our son, Zachary, was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. At that time it was challenging to find resources that could offer support. After several years of therapy, Zachary has overcome many challenges, but continues to work hard each day to overcome new obstacles. His struggles, and courage, inspire us to take an active role advocating, spreading awareness, and fundraising. In 2006 we held the first “Shoot Out For Autism”. Our intent is to inspire other outdoorsman and shooting sports enthusiasts to join our cause. We want Zachary, and all individuals affected by autism, to have opportunities that will enrich their lives and make their futures bright. With your support we can help individuals and families affected by autism and other developmental disabilities.
Who We Support
For the past twelve years, we have adapted to raising a child with autism. While early intervention and funding research will always be important to us, our personal focus has grown to also include the need for local recourses as individuals with autism transition to adulthood in our community. We are proud to announce that this year’s proceeds will be split between Autism Speaks and Nova Center of the Ozarks. Both organizations support the autism community in beneficial ways. Please read the following about each wonderful organization.
Is dedicated to funding global bio-medical research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a possible cure for Autism. They strive to raise public awareness about autism and its effects on individuals, families, and society; and work to bring hope to all who deal with the hardships of this disorder. They are committed to raising the funds necessary to support these goals. For more information, please visit: www.autismspeaks.org
